Pietro Casella, Francesco Lattarulo and Fabrizio Nicastro grew up with theatre and cinema, collaborating closely with the director from Turin, Daniele Gaglianone. They have always alternated the activity of dramatic composition with unpredictable street performances, through which they have developed a special comedy style which permits them to stage the tragicomic absurdity of day-to-day situations dominated by clichés both from the television and not.
“Senso D’oppio” had their official public debut in June 1999, when they staged a few sketches which soon became part of their first show “Scimia Sbriciolata”. Their cabaret is immediately recognisable due to its originality and their way of recounting events bordering on the untrue, through caricatures of famous people and by creating situations which are often absurd but made funny by the gestures and physical appearance of the people.
In 2004, this cabaret trio performed a new show “Fivol Hiu-Hiu” and took part in the Zelig laboratory, Turin. This new show was made up of about ten sketches which recounted events and contexts inspired by real situations, then exaggerated and rendered comical by the use of gesticulations and changes of costumes. Since 2007 they have chosen to dedicate their time to the creation of sketches for television, working with Zelig laboratory, run by Teo Guadalupi at the civic theatre of Chivasso. In May 2008 they took part in five episodes of Zelig Off, performing their sketch “Videogame production” (a parody of videogames). In 2009 they took part in Zelig at prime time on Canale 5.
