September 2009: More patrons, more money bet, and countless winners at the tables

During September 2009 the Casino put in a very good performance with regard to the increase in the number of patrons, which totalled 42,668. This represents a 13.25% increase year on year. The cumulative total number of patrons to September represents a 3.72% increase year on year. The upward trend in the number of patrons thus continues: the first promising figures were recorded in June; then these were confirmed in July and August. These figures are testimony to the positive response of our patrons to the innovative marketing and product strategies which the Casino has adopted in 2009.
Very good results have also been achieved with regard to the over all amount of money bet, which increased by 8.2%. This is a very important and positive indicator for the re-launch of the Casino, especially in the light of the current global economic downturn.

After two consecutive positive months for the Casino (in terms of the gross revenue generated by our games) this month Fortune decided to smile instead on our patrons. The gross revenue was €6,835,330.00 representing a decline of 18.36%, year on year. This can be accounted for by the fact that September 2008, in contrast to this year, was an exceptionally lucky month for the bank of the Casino. The most significant decline in revenue was posted by the American Games and the French Roulette game, while the slot machines saw a 1.62% increase in revenue.
These figures are in line with our business plan aim of reaching the 2009 budget target.

October, like September, is full of game-related events: the gala for the Chemin de Fer takes place over the first weekend of the month; the Slot Machine tournament, which will take place between the 16 –18 October; Saturday the 17th marks the first day of a tournament which commemorates 20 years of dice games at the Casino. Finally, on the two weekends of 8 –11 October and 29 October – 1 November, two tournaments of Texas Hold’ em bring to a close the month’s events.
